BIO
I live in sunny California, but I grew up all across the United States! I write celtic-inspired and spiritual music with a mission to inspire others to heal the earth, heal inequality and if they choose, heal their relationship with their Higher Power. I base my songs off of personal experiences from being a social worker, nature, as well as questions, doubts and answers within my own spiritual journey.
I had the chance to see different styles of music growing up because we kept moving around the country!! I started piano at age 5 in Delta, UT, then took violin in an orchestra in 3rd grade in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, saw my classmates perform to African soul music during Black History Month celebrations, then moved to a small farm town in Illinois (middle school) where I learned to love the flute and it’s beautiful sound as well as singing in musicals! In St. George, Utah (high school), I learned peaceful and ethereal choral music and traveled with a community choir to New York to perform with John Rutter and saw my first broadway shows. College brought opportunities to be in musicals (Little Women-Beth; Urinetown-Hope) and travel with a Celtic band (playing flute and singing!) to Scotland. As I then spent several years getting my master’s degree in social work and working with vulnerable populations such as children in foster care and homeless populations, it informed the music I wrote and still does.
I’ve been grateful to have a well-rounded life in many ways and two beautiful children now!! Though my life is not full of touring and performances, I feel more motivated than ever to work on and share my art. I am driven to use my limited time as a mother and mental health therapist to be spot-on with my mission. I continue to work towards releasing songs between every 2 weeks to 2 months at the most! I dance in community classes and work with other dancers to choreograph my original music - so much fun. With my musical (The Movement), I'm working with a producer towards a filmed read through and subsequent concert production in the next year. Join my email list for monthly updates and the chance to be in the know early for performances and new creations!! I'm beyond happy to have you here and want to have a back and forth dialogue about what this art inspires and your own inner world and what's going on in your life.
